West Ham boss David Moyes and recruitment chief Rob Newman have big decisions on contract renewals to make this summer.

Much has been written about new signings, but the duo have to decide the futures of at least six Hammers who are up for, or will hopefully be persuaded, into agreeing new deals based on form.

Declan Rice is top of the list of course and has already been offered the highest deal in the club’s history – an increase on that can be expected but our end of season position and qualification for Europe

will be another big issue.

However, he has two years left on his current deal and a year’s option so a departure this year remains very unlikely.

Issa Diop – who is out of contract in 2024 with a year’s option is another the pair need to make a decision on with Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall a target

Talks are also on the cards aimed at securing deal for Tomas Soucek – out of contract in 2024 – and Ben Johnson.  whilst Aaron Cresswell comes out of contract next June.

In addition it is possible that goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could well be offered a further one year deal on the one he has already  accepted for next year.

What with that and new signings required it will hopefully be a quick and successful operation this summer with next season being interrupted by the World Cup starting on November 21.
