Mark Noble was named as man of the match in West Ham’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United this afternoon and what a performance he put in.

“Mr West Ham” as he is so often referred to played an influential role in allowing West Ham to win their first league home game of the season.

He completed 59 passes, had a success rate of 88% but more crucially, he set-up Marko Arnautovic for the Hammers third with a lovely ball that cut the United defence in half as the Austrian stayed calm to slot home.

When put in charge of marking Paul Pogba, Noble more than stood his own and bossed the £89 million Frenchman until he was subbed off, which was to great amusement of the home fans.

He really did roll back the years with some of his play today. On a number of occasions he left his opponents dead on their feet with a few tidy turns and consistently dictated the play.

As is clear, Noble isn’t blessed with much pace but no matter what, he continued to try and work hard to either regain possession or set the Hammers away on an attack.

Alongside Pedro Obiang and Declan Rice, Mark Noble looks extremely composed in the middle of the park and the three have formed a wonderful trio during the last few games.

Noble is re-finding his very best form as West Ham are too, encouraging signs for boss Manuel Pellegrini.

West Ham, having failed to pick up any points in their first four Premier League games have now claimed seven points from Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United.
