Mystery over Hammer’s whereabouts

Hammer Aaron Cresswell has not been in training and is not thought to have made the trip to France today for the pre-season game against Rennes.

It has been assumed that David Moyes had given him time off while his future was decided as a move to Wolves looked very probable.

That now looks in serious doubt with the two clubs unable to agree a fee for the 33-year-old left back.

Now unconfirmed internet reports and sources close to players suggest Cresswell is either refusing to train or has not made himself available for training.

The club have not cleared matters up this morning by saying they could neither confirm nor deny the rumours.

If the reports are accurate, then Cresswell will likely face a two-week fine from the club unless they give him retrospective permission to miss training.

There is no suggestion that the West Ham player is injured, and mystery surrounds his current whereabouts and status.

All eyes will be on today’s match day squad, but it will be a massive surprise if he is named in it.
