New warning as game’s cash dries up

Haller – still millions left to pay on his transfer fee

Massive wage bills and unpaid transfer fees…a total lack of any kind of revenue and uncertainty over when the game will be played before crowds again is leaving the game on the brink!

Transfer fees for example are usually paid in tranches of three although in the case of the Hammers Sebasian Haller’s needs to be paid within 18 months from the date of the transfer.

The same situation exists across all leagues with clubs due to pay heavy balances on those they have brought in over the last couple of years or so.

And all of this has led to a former director of football claiming he has been told by a leading agent that only  three Premier League clubs will be able to spend money on transfers this summer

Former Tottenham director of football Damien Comolli has been talking to Sky Sports abouyt that conversation saying there will be very little cash available for transfers:

He said: “”An agent was telling me the other day, that there are actually only three clubs in the Premier League will be able to spend money next summer in the transfer window.

“We might see very little transfer activity, we might see swaps, we might see loans and I think we are going to see a massive decrease in transfer fees and transfer activity, at least transfers involving money.

“The longer this crisis goes on, more clubs are going to be in a financially difficult situation. The first thing that will be impacted will be player remuneration, the second thing will be transfer fees.”
