Another West Ham crest has been installed at the Olympic Stadium today as the WestHamification at the former Olympic Stadium continues.  The re-designed crest  sees  the Boleyn castle removed and the word ‘London’ added underneath two hammers. The shape of the crest represents an old Thames Ironsworks ship.

In an online vote, conducted over 48 hours in 2014 by SMG Yougov, 56% of fans said they liked the new design. The club said at the time its badge has been altered on average once every 10 years, although the current design has existed since 1999.

The Olympic Stadium agreement released last week says “The exploitation of the Stadium Naming Rights shall be undertaken as long the Stadium continues to be associated with the Concessionaire Group and shall retain the look and feel of the home ground of West Ham United Football Club during the Football Season without limitation
