No chance for five goal Bowen v no goals Grealish

West Ham star man Jarrod Bowen won’t be holding his breath when Gareth Southgate prepares to announce his team for tonight’s game against Italy.

Despite his outstanding start to the season which have seen him score five goals in 10 games at all levels you can bet money on him not appearing.

Be certain, however that no goals in ten games Jack Grealish sees his shirt hanging up on the dressing room wall.

As has been repeated on here several times, Gareth Southgate ensured Bowen would be near starved of the ball against Australia by directing the England players to go left as often as possible – these things don’t happen by accident.

It appeared from the team the Three Lions manager put out against the Aussies that he had little concern about the outcome of the game as he did Jarrod’s performance.

Yet it was obvious to most who know anything about the game that his more direct right wing approach helped to set up two fine chances whilst Grealish’s fancy dan tricks did very little to help increase a dour 1-0 win.

Hope I’m wrong of course but I will be very surprised indeed if five goal Jarrod is involved as well as the no goal Man City man.

Ah, there’s the reason of course. He plays for Man City of course!
