Reports that the Hammers are facing a “string of summer pay rise demands” from some of their unsettled stars have again emerged this evening.

The national newspaper story appears to be based on an old and unsubstantiated rumour that Jose Fonte and Robert Snodgrass landed big money deals back in January.

The story claims that defender Fonte signed a £65,000-a-week deal while midfielder Snodgrass’ terms are also believed to take him past the £60,000-a-week mark.

Our information is that both deals were between £50k and £55k a week which is in line with the rest of the dressing room with the exception of Andy Carroll.

The report also claims that Michail Antonio is some way from  agreeing a deal with the club but the reality s that negotiations were simply  were halted as the club became embroiled in relegation worries.

ClaretandHugh revealed that at the time and was again told this evening: “Michail is contracted to us until 2020 and only signed a new deal last season.

We want to reward him and talks were going well until both sides decided it was in the best interest of all to wait until the relegation fears were in the past. We are all very relaxed about the situation. There’s no worries.”
