No Messi…no Ronaldo…and other owners with more money but still plenty of positives as Hammers get ready

ClaretandHugh’s Foxy Lady CAROL COMBES takes a few minutes off from admining the CandH Facebook Group @https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ to give her sideways look at the Irons season complete with some sad reminders of what was, but will never be again!
I am the bearer of bad news for West Ham fans.
Brace yourselves, but as I awoke this morning to a rare day off, and realised the transfer window will soon close, (Whoopee!), there were a few realities that dawned on me:
  1. Neither Ronaldo nor Messi have signed for West Ham.
  2. Zabaleta has not lost 10 years off his age.
  3. Our great Bobby Moore is not back playing with us.
  4. Whatever our owners are worth, there will always be others owners with more money.
  5. We are never going to win every game and play with perfection of which we dream.
  6. Our beloved Boleyn hasn’t regenerated overnight back to a footy ground, complete with 60,000+ capacity, but still feel the same!
Now that said, and before we start crying about what isn’t, are there any positives about West Ham before this season starts?
I think so. After those turbulent years, it seems as though the club is becoming more stable each season-meaning we can concentrate on the footy rather than what disaster is looming behind the scenes!
Many more now seem to have accepted the move to the stadium-reflected by the huge percentage of renewals. Those that are unable/unwilling to adjust will, of course, not continue to pay for a ST , (and moan all season about it!), but give them up, so that some (very), lucky people on the long waiting list can go and support the players.
I think many of us are never ‘happy’ about the squad-always ‘light’ in some areas-but settle for ‘ok’ or ‘we’ll see’! That said, we wouldn’t be West Ham without more than our fair share of dreadful injuries/bad luck.
We already expect to lose some games we expected to win, and will ship far more goals than my blood pressure can take-that’s being a West Ham fan! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
At the other end, I can’t remember when we last had so many exciting players, with great skills and talent, that I cannot wait to see gel as a team and turn on some magic!
Add to that the great man, Pelligrini, (and his team), who loves ‘real’ footy, is incredibly intelligent and experienced, then I think it’s looking like an interesting season ahead.
Although many scoff, I must also mention the amazing West Ham Ladies, who have caused a lot of upset to other teams-may that continue! It’s all under the West Ham family! 😉👍⚒
If, (!), we lose to City we know the ‘doomers’ will start, nothing will stop them, but I think we have a lot to look forward to.
Relax, it’s footy! If you can’t find anything about it you enjoy-don’t add stress to your life-go watch a Chess match!
For me, bring it on!
COME ON YOU IRONS! 👍⚒
