There is absolutely no need to panic over West Ham’s lack of transfer business after five days of the January window!

There just haven’t been too many deals done in the top-flight, with perhaps the biggest seeing Newcastle strike an agreement to sign Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid.

Reports suggest he will be earning well in excess of £100k per week and will become their highest earner to boot.

Beyond that, per Sky Sports, Brighton have signed youngster Kacper Kozlowski from Pogon Szczecin, Wolves have signed Hayao Kawabe from Zurich, Everton have signed Nathan Patterson from Rangers and Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kyiv, Watford have signed Hassane Kamara from Nice and Leeds have signed Mateo Joseph Fernandez.

Heard of many of those players? Nope, us neither.

The big deals just don’t get done early in the winter window and we know that David Moyes is in the market to sign a new centre-back and a new striker.

The top clubs in the country, who are chasing qualification to the Champions League, have yet to strengthen their squads. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs, and Manchester United have yet to spend a penny.

There is no need to pick up the pitchforks just yet.

The Irons will attempt to do their business but it will take some time to get the right players through the door; be patient and wait for those club announcements!
