No Rice bitterness if worse comes to worst

Declan Rice’s future is of course a regular source of speculation.
And as ClaretandHugh was the first to reveal he will be allowed to leave next summer if the club receives an offer, they find acceptable.

There are some who believe that it may be a better idea to sell him in January but we are not among them given the club’s current situation.

But we feel precisely the same as numerous supporters who will wish the best home-grown product possibly since Mooro nothing but well if and when the time comes that he should leave.
Declan has given everything he has and to have signed a four-year deal with a two-year option when he was clearly becoming a Hammers superstar was fantastic.
Should he now go on to a major club and start winning things is no more than he will deserve.
We hope and pray a Mission Impossible could intervene and he remains, but the reality seems that he will be on his way.
And two comments on the CandH Facebook forum surely reveals how the majority of us feel on the issue for as Roderick Graham says:  “I’ll be gutted to see him leave but I don’t blame him. He deserves to play at the very highest level. It will still stick in the craw to see him wearing another shirt, though.
And Chris Denning adds: “I don’t feel blame or bitterness towards anyone here. Rice has become Champions League quality. The West Ham board are trying to make us constant Europa competitors, but that is still a work in progress.
“Rice has become too big for the club and will leave for a Champions League team after giving West Ham everything. Good luck to him and hopefully we can use the money from the sale to purchase 2 or 3 players that take us that bit further towards becoming a top 6 to 8 club.”
