No show for promised PAI takeover statement

Fascinating times we are living in with a supposed takeover bid being conducted via statements from the ‘bidders’ through the media.

PAI’s hopes of taking over West Ham United are one thing and entirely their own business – as is the way they go about it – but usually, it would be done through solicitors under non-disclosure agreements as are most business deals of this nature.

Yesterday (Tues) PAI chose to offer a few answers to Hammers News – credit to that website for approaching them – but in reality, there were no details  of what they intended to spend and most of the questions answered with a “wait until tomorrow’s press statement.”

Well, we have waited all day and night and still no press statement. We have rung the office number ( a mobile), emailed asking when it’s going to be out there and had no responses.

Quite how much dough they plan to invest and why they want to buy a stadium with is currently losing £30 million a year remains unclear.

Why they have declared they will release details in the media is a mystery – surely they should be talking to the club through lawyers if they are serious in their intentions.

There will of course be those hopeful and excited that PAI are serious but it’s probably as well to remember that this consortium has no history of running successful football clubs.

Until the public statements stop and the serious legal talk starts we’ll let others get on with discussing this stuff.

Those wanting new owners don’t want to hear it but honestly, this is simply not the way takeovers are done.
