Stadium operators have yet to find a technical partner to provide free supporter WiFi in the London Stadium next season admitting no contract has been awarded to date.  Originally, an Indian company called Mahindra was supposed to provide free Wifi as part of their naming rights deal but that deal collapsed last year. Likewise, Vodafone planned to showcase their mobile technology including WiFi as part of another planned naming rights deal for the former Olympic Stadium before they also pulled out earlier this year. London Stadium 185 say “We still have ambition to deliver supporter WiFi”

Meanwhile, Stadium owners E20 Stadium LLP continue to look for a new naming partner to help plug their funding gap for the running costs of the stadium. A Daily Mail story published a few days that they that had stopped their quest while the World Athletic Championships was on has been flatly denied while the Daily Mail also claim they have an agreement not to seek naming rights sponsors from betting companies.
