Noble ready to build on Hammers display

The stakes are high for both the Hammers and Leicester City when the two sides collide at the London Stadium this weekend.

With the Foxes having sunk to a shock defeat at home by Newcastle and the Irons losing but being the better team at Old Trafford, both teams have  entirely different motivations  for the game.

Victory would take the Irons to within two points of currently seventh places City but with Watford visiting Huddersfield and Wolves hosting Brighton further progress up the league looks unlikely.

Everton are at home to Manchester United on Sunday but a positive result is required big time by the Hammers after such a confidence boosting victory against the Mancs.

There’s also the vitally important business of not sliding any further down the table after recent reverses.

Skipper Mark Noble, like the rest of the squad, is adamant that the Hammers learned more about themselves in defeat at weekend than they would have done in victory.

He told www.whufc.com“I thought from Saturday’s performance, sometimes you come away from games, not very often, but sometimes you’ve lost but you feel like you’ve achieved a lot more.

“That’s what it felt like on Saturday because we played so well from start to finish. I thought we controlled the game and looked like a real good football team.

“I think you could see from the fans there that they really appreciated the way we played.”

And he added: “We want to get back to winning ways at home, definitely. Leicester are a really good side though, they’ve got a top manager, got really good players so we need to play like we did on Saturday

“Like I said in this league you can lose, win and draw, but if you lose like you did on Saturday you take more positives out of it.”
