Not the best but these Irons keep finding a way

We weren’t great…but that’s not the point!

Good teams find a way to win games and against a lively but largely ineffective Leeds side – as was the way when we played them last – we were more than good ENOUGH.

And it’s always the sign of an average team when they only start playing when a couple of goals down. We took our chances, they missed there’s. Simple game really!

We also hit the woodwork twice!

So  as we go into the last lap of a season, the Hammers are right up there in fifth place with a game in hand on Chelsea two points ahead of us in fourth place.

Extraordinary!

It means we have notched 14 wins and have 24 more points than we had gathered at the same stage last season.

Whatever happens next, this has been a coming of age season and without wishing to tempt fate a top six place is now looking a better than an even money chance.

Despite a thin squad, the absences of Angelo Ogbonna and Arthur Masuaku  have been barely noticed which is a total tribute to Craig Dawson in particular and the remainder of the back line in general

Should we finish in the Euro qualification places – as I believe we will – that will bring some financial issues which  will need to be solved if our league situation isn’t to suffer through lack of resources.

Ideally, we need left back cover,  more numbers in midfield and a striker or preferably two. Doubtless, the COVID decimation of resources will be raised.

Answers will need to be found regardless unless a European campaign doesn’t raise more issues than it should and has found out other clubs in the past.

In the meantime to be discussing such issues is incredible and we have no reason, after what we have seen this season not to trust, the main man Moyesie to sort things.
