It’s groundhog day again as the Italian press carries on their speculation linking Pedro Obiang to a return to Italy this winter.

Corriere Dello Sport recycled a story that the future of Pedro Obiang in East London is under question, with Fiorentina keen to bring the former Sampdoria midfielder back to Serie A.

The article claims that La Viola have identified the midfielder as a potential replacement for Croatian international Milan Badelj, who looks set to finally depart the Stadio Artemio Franchi this month with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

The report adds that West Ham value Obiang at around £10 million which seems a ridiculously low figure to give credibility to the speculation. A new claim has been made by fellow Italian publication Calciomercato who claim Fiorentina will soon make their move

The 25-year-old who recently scored an amazing strike against Spurs at Wembley, is contracted until 2022 at West Ham have signed a new contract in the summer.
