Issa Diop has left West Ham to join Fulham, the club has confirmed.

The centre-back informed David Moyes of his desire to move to the newly-promoted club ahead of the weekend, as he refused to play against Manchester City.

The Irons lost that game 2-0, with Ben Johnson playing as a makeshift centre-back, and he has now completed his move to Fulham.

The Hammers accepted a bid worth £13m earlier this week, with there being a number of bonuses on top.

Diop joined the club from Toulouse in 2018 and played 121 times for the club in total but one wonders if his conduct in the days leading up to his exit will have soured the opinion of fans.

He had slid down the pecking order at the London Stadium but Moyes intended to keep him around after Nayef Aguerd sustained a bitter injury blow in pre-season.

The Hammers are now likely to pursue another centre-back before the window closes.
