Hammer Angelo Ogbonna says that his first five years at the club have flown by  and that he now considers London a second home away from, his native Italy.

And although he doesn’t know what the future holds,  he is happy  with a contract until 2022 and would like to win something while at West Ham.

Ogbonna told Italian daily Gazzetta dello SportThese five years have flown by”

“If I went back, I would make the same choice. I consider London my second home. I don’t know where the future will take me.

“For now I’m fine here. I have a contract valid until 2022 and I would like to win something.”

Ogbonna has made 161 appearances for West Ham since joining from Juventus for £8m in 2015 scoring eight goals in the process.

The 32-year-old was unlucky to miss out on Hammer of the Year last season and led the way before the pandemic struck, having to settle for runner-up to Declan Rice.

Oggy has had a renaissance last season for West Ham. He was solid at the back and vital to the club’s survival.

He started the season as a third-choice centre back behind the defensive partnership of  Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop but a drop of form by Balbuena meant Ogbonna was given a chance and he quickly proved he had no intention going back to bench warming.
