Oggy thrilled by surprise call-up

Angelo Ogbonna has been delighted by a surprise call up from the Italian management team following an injury to defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The central defender – capped 11 times – has not featured since appearing in a FIFA World Cup qualifying win in Israel in September 2016.

Now, however, as he closes in on 100 appearances for the Irons caretaker Italy manager Luigi Di Biagio has called him into the squad..

And 29 year old Oggy said on Instagram: “It will be an honor and a privilege to return to defend the colours of our national team,” the 29-year-old posted on his Instagram account on Sunday.
