David Moyes has confirmed that he is hoping to add two more players to his squad before the transfer deadline.

The Hammers boss has yet to add a new player to his squad in this window and has previously straight batted questions about potential new additions, insisting that he simply doesn’t know if transfers will be done.

But he has now confirmed that the club are hoping to get two new players through the door prior to the end of the window.

We have consistently reported that the Irons boss wants to sign a new central defender and a striker, and it remains to be seen if additions will come in those positions.

But Moyes has clearly changed his tune, potentially suggesting that the Hammers are suddenly confident of deals being done.

Speaking to reporters prior to this weekend’s game against Manchester United, Moyes said, as per Football.London: “Yeah. 100% the board have been really good they have supported me greatly and said ‘go and get what you need if you can David. ‘ Like everything else things are expensive in this window at the moment also there’s not a great pool [of players] the positions we are looking for we have found difficult to identify and maybe get ones who we think can come in and make a difference immediately.

“The last couple of January windows we’ve been able to do that. This window has felt a wee bit more difficult. But if things go right and we get a good run of things I am still hopeful that we will add a couple of players before the window closes.”
