Former Hammer Jack Wilshere has his heart on a move to Glasgow Rangers, according to Portuguese outlet, Record.
Wilshere has been a free agent since terminating his Hammers contract by mutual consent in October picking up a multi-million payout.
The 28-year-old suggested he was eyeing a move overseas but there has been little firm interest now Valencia has pulled out and Steven Gerrard maybe Wilshere’s last hope of playing in a top-flight league this season.
Rangers are flying at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and in the Europa League but Wilshere could be forced to accept a pay as you play deal with clubs not prepared to take a chance on his previous injury record.
Wilshere did enjoy £100,000 per week wages at West Ham whilst previously earning £90,000 per week with Arsenal. He may have to accept to considerably reduce his salary expectations if he really wants to play football again.
