Out-in-cold Carroll facing no man’s land

Andy Carroll could find himself training with the Hammers as an out of contract player this summer as the clock ticks down on the striker’s career at the club.

Carroll has new injury problems with his ankle and is under treatment as the season heads towards its end with the club now having decided that he will not receive a new deal or activate the existing option on his current one.

And with him having played so few games and again in the treatment room there will be no offers for a player who has made just 14 appearances this season – many as sub – whilst managing just one goal (in the FA Cup).

Now he faces a scenario of being out of contract and in the same position of Samir Nasri who was forced to train with the squad on no wages ahead of his permanent move to the club in the summer.

A well placed source admitted to us by telephone that the club were actively looking at strikers as a matter of priority.
