West Ham’s bench will come under close examination from the boss ahead of the game against Bournemouth tomorrow( Sat).

The events of Wednesday night have left a bitter taste in his and the backroom team’s mouth after watching the performances of tried and tested squad members.

Whilst there wasn’t a decent performance from any Hammer, one or two  particularly disappointed – notably Robert Snodgrass and  Jack Wilshere, while Albian Ajeti – playing just his second game for the first team failed to impress.

With no other striker option available the Swiss international  may hold onto his place but the Scot – after failing to impress this season – may find himself rested.

Pellegrini was of course deeply disappointed at the performances of the team and will of course return to his strongest Xl for a match at Bournemouth which now becomes a real test of character for the squad.

A bubble of hope and optimism has been  burst during the events of the Oxford United game and the manager is determined that another defeat is simply unacceptable at this point.
