Dimtri Payet’s song and picture with the number 27 will be removed from the outside of the London Stadium and replaced by a new Andy Carroll graphic.

An insider insisted that the new Andy Carroll silhouette of his magnificent over head goal had already been ordered as the best  footballing moment at the London Stadium and was set to be installed before Dimi’s departure was confirmed. The new graphic will be installed before Wednesday’s game against Manchester City in place of Payet.

Payet giant shirt within the London stadium will also be taken down but the club are not sure whether it can be logistically completed in time for Wednesday’s game.

Payet was awarded a giant shirt within the London stadium as reigning Hammer of the year but the insider said it is no longer appropriate to hang there considering he is no longer a West Ham player. The shirt will be eventually replaced by the new Hammer of the year at the end of the season.

Plans to replace the stadium shirt with the number 12 and the words Claret and Blue army to honour supporters may also be shelved because of the long lead time to order  a new giant shirt ClaretandHugh have been told but options are still being considered.

Karren Brady asked whether the Payet branding would be removed answered on twitter this morning “Yes work has began and we hope to have it all removed by Wednesday.”
