Pelle plays cards close on Wilshere

Manuel Pellegrini is clearly not ready to give Jack Wilshere any false hope over an ongoing future at West Ham.

The former Gunner – currently on a £100k contract – has been sidelined with an ankle injury virtually all season and there is still no clear indication of when he will be again be permanently in the reckoning for a place.

Indeed it has even been rumoured that the club could come to a compensation agreement with the midfielder which could see him leave under a mutual agreement.

Things haven’t reached that stage right now and it would clearly be better were he to be able to demonstrate by a couple of appearances or place on the bench that he may be ready for a loan move next season.

There can be little argument that a three year deal was a very poor decision and the manager is unready to make any decision on his future declaring instead that a lot of things must be considered.

Whilst speaking to reporters he said: ” I am not talking about Jack Wilshere, about the next season we are not talking about any names for next season staying or going.

I think next week Jack Wilshere will start working with the squad and after that we have six games where we have to decide a lot of things.”
