Manuel Pellegrini could dip into the loan market before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

We are told that Pellegrini is not a big fan of loans preferring instead to invest in permanent transfers but we understand he could consider loans after failing to land a number of defensive midfield targets.

One name that keeps on cropping up is Stefano Sturaro, the 25 year old has been on the fringes of the Juventus squad over recent seasons, making just seven starts in Serie A last term. Juventus want around £18million but the Hammers want to see if they tempt the Italian giants with a loan offer with an option to buy.

Another new name in mix is Ignacio Camacho from VfL Wolfsburg. The academy graduate at Atlético Madrid made his senior debut at the age of 17 before being sold to Malaga in 2011 where he played under Pellegrini. He left Malaga in 2017 for the German club for £9m. West Ham have reportedly inquired about a loan deal but Woldsburg are only interested in selling their defensive midfielder at a profit.
