Pellegrini has become a toxic byword

‘THERE’S NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT’!

An old saying my dear old mum used to recite to me as a child whenever she wanted me to do something – not in my own time – but right now!

I make no apology for directing those words at the two men who have the power to act on our behalf! The time has come for David Sullivan and David Gold to call time on the Pellegrini era!

The current manager is a dead man walking. He’s become a toxic byword that has the potential to become very ugly indeed unless action is taken. There is no way back for him. He has to go – and he has to go NOW!

The longer the Chilean remains at the club the worse the situation is going to become. The players have clearly lost confidence in the manager – and at the same time lost confidence in themselves!

In happier days!

It’s obvious from their body language. They are at an all time low. That feeling is matched by the supporters off the pitch, whose patience with the man in charge has evaporated completely.

There is not only frustration but a real and growing anger at events. And that is what worries me! We know only too well how these things can escalate! The club we all love doesn’t deserve to see this situation develop into action likely to drag our name through the mud yet again!

It doesn’t make me a board lover to say the two Davids gave us what we wanted when we wanted it. When they appointed Pellegrini he was a big name, had a reputation for playing football a certain way, dare I say the West Ham Way, had Premier League experience at the highest level – and was a winner.

The ingredients were right – but sadly the proof hasn’t been in the pudding! Now is definitely the time to pull the plug and start afresh!

I have no real idea how quickly these things can happen but it has to be the quicker the better. Even if it means bringing in a short-term solution – dare I suggest maybe our Trev could even step in again for a few games – things just can’t be allowed to get any worse!

‘Action speaks louder than words’ is another old saying. That’s exactly what we want – and deserve!
