Jack Wilshere has been left “very upset” by an injury which looks set to sideline him for between four and six weeks.

Wilshere’s stop/start career is again on stop after again as he finds himself back on a hospital bed as his miserable catalogue of injuries continue.

Manuel Pellegrini, along with most fans, will clearly sympathise for the unfortunate former Gooner with the manager making it clear this setback is particularly hard for the midfielder to accept.

The boss said: “He was working so well that of course he was very upset about what happened. I spoke with him before he started the week. He felt the pain in his ankle.

“He is a player, who is maybe not too old, but he has a lot of experience with injuries. I hope he will know what is the best way to recover as soon as he can.”
