Manuel Pellegrini is reported to have had a full post mortem with players this week watching back the Newcastle defeat.

According to ITK EXWHUEmployee speaking on Phoenix FM West Ham Way radio show on Wednesday night  ‘There was heated discussions between the players and the manager after the performance, they watched the video back, a lot was dissected on the performance”

Ex added “I think it was a very open conversation, I think it was a two way thing, I don’t think it was naughty school children sitting down and listening to the headmaster, I think it was a two way conversation and they just want to get to the bottom of what the problem was, usual things were thrown out that the fans deserve better”

Claret and Hugh say:

If the report is true I am glad Manuel Pellegrini has made the team watch the whole 90 minutes against Newcastle taking them through it minute by minute, mistake by mistake, lost opportunity by lost opportunity.  The manager is often accused of not being emotional and lacking passion so I am hoping this discussion was heated with the players.

He is never going to be an Alex Ferguson hair dryer type but if controlled angry is used in the correct manner it can galvanise the team to do better. In the same way, if they win they all win together when they fail they all fail together and every player and member of the management staff must take their share of responsibility and then move on to prove people wrong at Burnley. I am hoping we see a big improvement on Saturday.
