Pellegrini spectre becomes reality

The spectre of Manuel Pellegrini took on a grim reality this evening as Manchester United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford.

It means that the Hammers are now rock bottom of the Premier the first time since the 2018/19 season under the former Manchester City boss.

That season, the Irons lost their first four games, going down 4-0 to Liverpool, 2-1 to Bournemouth, 3-1 to Arsenal, and 1-0 to Wolves.

That left them rock-bottom, although they did rally to finish 10th, winning 15 of their 38 games.

Of course, thus far, the Hammers haven’t won a game, going three without a victory, and the only other team in the league who were pointless was United, after chastening defeats to Brighton and Brentford.

After United took all three points at Old Trafford the Irons are bang bottom, and looking for points from the trip to Aston Villa this weekend.

After the last couple of seasons the position we find ourselves in is more than a tad embarrassing.
