Over 64% of Claret and Hugh readers blame Manuel Pellegrini for West Ham’s defeat against Everton last Saturday.

Most supporters point to his tactics of starting Lucas Perez and Pedro Obiang in a starting lineup that lacked any desire or passion.

Nearly 36% of  the 1,156 who voted say Pellegrini was not to blame and argue that it was the players who need to step up, some point to the fact that Felipe Anderson and Samir Nasri were injured, Mark Noble had personal family issues and Javier Hernandez was suffering from fatigue from his international duties for Mexico. They say Pellegrini selection choices were limited in the circumstances so it was up to players drafted in as replacements to step up and perform.

West Ham had an option to go seventh in the Premier League at the weekend after Wolves and Watford both lost their games but the costly defeat to Everton at the London Stadium has dropped the Hammers down to Eleventh place in the Premier League table.  West Ham had just one shot on target against Everton on Saturday Everton and have managed a combined total of just three shots on target in games against Cardiff  Away, Bournemouth  Away and Wolves Away.
