Pellegrini…the fans have their say

Ok, after a night’s sleep the doubts linger on and even start to build!

There has been no bigger supporter of Manuel Pellegrini than me. From the moment he was appointed until the start of this season and beyond I have believed we are on our way into the top seven.

But although for many the money spent has not been enough, it’s been the most in our history and we have the right to feel  we should be a lot better than we are at the moment.

Sheffield United are undoubtedly a decent team, the record shows it, but they were there for the taking yesterday and we failed.

Whether you put it down to the players or the manager is up to each to decide but at the end of the day in every job the buck stops at the top.

Should we not get a win against Newcastle there can be little doubt that Pelle will be in huge trouble with the fans.

In the meanwhile here’s some of the many responses we received at the ClaretandHugh FB Group following yesterday’s draw.

O Pellegrini is failing in my estimation – I’m not sure he knows what he’s doing – he’s losing his genius aura and just becoming another manager who iss struggling with what he’s got available to him – why did he take Snoddy off – no idea! – why did he keep  Yarmolenko on – no idea! why did he take Anderson off – no idea!

O One upfront at home v Sheffield United? Joke. If Pellegrini refuses to change the system, it’s time to change the manager.

O Incredibly poor substitutions from Pellegrini. Yarmolenko was right in front of me in 2nd half and really seemed to be lacking energy, but he took Anderson off who was all over them.

O I wonder if we could award the gaffer a mark for his substitutions, I’d give him 3. No way should Snoddy have been substituted he was having a decent game.

O Sheffield United are unbeaten in their last 14 away games – there’s a reason for that! Our build-up created several chances that should have been put away. That was the difference yesterday. It’s a fine line between scapegoat and hero. The attitude of the team was 200% better than last week!
