Manuel Pellegrini was asked by reporters about Marko Arnauotovic’s future at West Ham after he appeared to wave goodbye to the Wesst Ham crowd at the London Stadium.

The Chilean manager was largely tight-lipped saying “We will see what happens in the next (few) days, it is an issue where the club must see what’s best for him, for the player, for the club, for everyone. We will take the best decision for everyone”

When asked whether the manager had a big part to play in keeping him at West Ham considering his experience Pellegrini responded “I have been a manager for 30 days, sometimes big teams want your best players  but we must be very calm about this situation and I don’t want to talk about that as there is nothing 100% sure so we will see how the next days go”

The Austrian was captured on camera with a long face at full time and was one of the first down the tunnel rather than celebrate with his teammates. Shortly afterwards he was spotted at Heathrow when he jetted off to Vienna with his wife.
