West Ham will stage an urgent upgrade on their Rush Green training centre after new boss Manuel Pellegrini  made it clear he was distinctly unimpressed with the place..

As a result work will start immediately given the club holds planning permission to work on the 29-acre site.

A report in the Mail claims: ‘Pellegrini will doubtless demand more privacy than afforded to his predecessor David Moyes, who was astonished to share a changing room with 14 coaches and backroom staff.’

And it adds that a new changing area is to be built because the West Ham Ladies team — run by Jack Sullivan, the son of co-owner David — are to be located on the site.

The gym area will need to be enlarged because it cannot accommodate the first-team squad. In fact  Astroturf had to be laid in the corridor outside the gym to provide more room.

The new manager – as CandH revealed a few weeks ago is keen to bring Under 23 players into first-team training to instil his philosophy

As a result  larger dressing rooms and an extension of the catering facilities will be required and the Chilean boss wants under-soil heating installed.  During the cold snap last winter and in early spring, Moyes was unable to use the pitches
