The China season runs from February or March until November and we understand there has been no permission given for the Hammers to talk with Pellegrini by his club Hebei China Fortune.
The reports came out of Spain over the last 24 hours that the former Manchester City boss was in advanced talks with the Hammers and had agreed in principle to an offer from the club.
It was reported by the daily tabloid Marca – a ‘paper which focuses essentially on news from Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Rayo Vallecano
Unsurprisingly, it was then picked up in the UK press although it’s not the first time he has been linked with the Hammers having been named as a target during the managerial changes at the club over the last three years.
Hebei China Fortune are currently six points off the bottom of the league China Super League and are due to play again on May 19 before returning to action against Dalian Yifang on July 18 continuing through until Sunday November 11 when they play their last game against Beijing Guoan.
