Pellegrini: “We did it the correct way”

Manuel Pellegrini goes into the match against Southampton the club has conducted itself correctly in the transfer market.

He makes it clear that there is no way anybody can be less than happy and accepts that could easily have been sacked by now.

Speaking to reporters  he said: “Nobody is happy and nobody can be happy. We’ve spent money – all the other teams have spent money as Fulham did last season and they were relegated.

Aston Villa have done it this season and they are in the same position. Every team in the Premier League must spend money because it’s a very competitive league because the value of the players every day is higher.

So I think that we did it the correct way. We are in a bad moment as not all the other teams but a lot of teams… Burnley, Wolverhampton at the beginning, Bournemouth, Chelsea at the beginning, Arsenal, Tottenham, it’s a difficult league where the difference is very little between one player and the other one.

I repeat it’s not normal to have five points from 13 and very bad results. That’s why I know that the owner trusts what we are doing because another owner maybe you have been sacked before and we know what football is and we are trying to get results.“
