PL boss drops huge verdict on major meeting

Spurs boss Antonio Conte believes that Thursday’s meeting between Premier League managers and the powerbrokers within the league was ultimately a waste of time.

The league have chosen to keep playing throughout the festive period despite the rising number of COVID infections in the league, and games on Boxing Day have already been postponed; Liverpool’s clash with Leeds, Wolves’ game against Watford, and Burnley’s fixture against Everton are all off due to the spike.

That means that a total of 13 games have now been postponed and Conte, whose Spurs side knocked the Hammers out of the EFL Cup earlier this week, believes that the meeting, which will also have included Hammers boss David Moyes, was ultimately pointless.

Speaking before Spurs’ game against Crystal Palace, which is still scheduled to go ahead, Conte said, as per BBC Sport: “I think so (it was a waste of time).

“Yesterday it was [like talking to] a wall and for this reason I also prefer to not go into it.”

The BBC reports that Conte did not actually contribute to the discussion but we’ve got to say that his words sound pretty much spot on here.
