Andy Carroll’s injury problems go on and on and it would be a seriously hard-hearted individual who didn’t feel sympathy for the club’s record signing.

But the issue of whether the player should remain or sold – assuming a buyer could be found – has dominated West Ham related social media debates for months.

And as a result ClaretandHugh decided to put the question to its followers in a new poll yesterday. It drew over 1,000 votes in less than 24 hours – a figure which makes is official with the Mori polling organisation.

And the Irons fans have made it clear by a heavy majority that if the chance comes to sell him, they believe the club should do so.

The official figure in favour of selling him was 67.53 per cent – a total of 703 votes with those against totalling 26.51 per cent ( 276 votes) with just 5.96 per cent unable to decide one way or the other (62).

In discussing the big man’s future manager Slaven Bilic this morning pledged to stand by the player.
