Poor Cardiff performance brings minimal punishment

West Ham’s horrible performance against Cardiff has certainly not been punished as it might have been this weekend.

They are just a point worse off with Wolves in seventh place after the midlands outfit grabbed a draw at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

And they remain the same four points behind Watford who yesterday were well beaten 3-1 by Manchester City.

It doesn’t alter the fact that the Hammers performed very badly but despite the deep disappointment they remain in the chase for seventh or eighth place regardless of the manner of the events in Wales.

The Hammers are the only side in action of the three on the forthcoming weekend when Huddersfield are visitors to the London Stadium.

After that we head into the international break which we will not wanting to enter  on the back of anything less than a convincing win against the Yorkshire outfit.

The Premier League programme re-commences with the Hammers taking on Everton  – a 5.30 kick off with Watford away to Manchester United and Wolves travelling to Burnley.
