Quiet January ahead for the Hammers

Manuel Pellegrini looks set to stay entirely loyal to his squad  until the end of the season with no exits or arrivals likely during the transfer window.

Carlos Snchez and possibly Robert Snodgrass seemed likely to be among those who could be on a danger list but word is that the boss wants to keep the squad together throughout the campaign.

Snoddy has seen little action in the League this term but was way off the pace at Oxford United.

But the manager is and remains a fan of the midfielder who has a year’s option on a contract which runs out in 2021.

Jack Wilshere’s form is a worry and he is touch and go for inclusion in the squad for the match against Palace having picked up a knock.

But such is his wage and injury record there are unlikely to be any takers who could afford him on loan or permanently were he available anyway.

Sanchez is seen as cover for Declan Rice and in the absence of another is set to see out his two year deal when he will be 34 years old

One source close to the backroom staff said to us by text: “We have heard murmurs about Snoddy’s position but it would be a mistake to start writing him off. He even has a year’s option on his current deal which runs out in 2021.

“The boss likes him and he is a very good influence around the club and the dressing room. He has the squad he wants and barring injuries there will be no comings or goings.”
