Scully among the goals

On-fire West Ham under 23 striker Anthony Scully has been called into the Ireland under 21 international against Armenia on Thursday.

The young Irons striker has found the net 13 goals in 12 games in Premier League 2 and won the Player of the Month in September whilst with Nathan Hol;and being nominated for the same award in October.

Scully’s amazing goal scoring exploits came after lead coach for the under 23s Dmitri Haljako moved him to the central role from the wing.

It means that he will miss the game at Exeter City on Wednesday evening when the under 23s take on the League side in a Leasing.com Trophy match.

Haljako has done an amazing job since arriving at the club with now regular calls emerging for the inclusion of  various under 23 stars to be included in the first team squad.

Holland is the first name off most people’s lips but Scully is another who is starting to be widely mentioned and it will be interesting to see what happens when the long awaited return of striker  Xande Silva takes place over forthcoming days.
