Redknapp Anderson prediction will rile Irons fans
Yes, he’s paid to be controversial but I guess, given the family connection, he has more than a passing interest in us and likely future events at the club.
He has made his opinions about the future of certain players – Declan Rice included – clear in the past and has now turned his attention to another who looks set to become a superstar at the London Stadium.
He’s been a fan of Felipe Anderson since he arrived at the club but doesn’t think he’ll be around too long should he have a big season.
What Jamie seems to misunderstand that with the likes of Rice, Diop and no doubt Fornals and Haller set to become big players, this is a club on a march to join the top outfits and no longer one to be seen as a feeder outfit for them.
However instead of perhaps taking a more positive approach on our behalf Redknapp says in an article for the Daily Mail: “My spies at West Ham have raved about Anderson’s pre-season performances.
Those who work with him day in, day out say he is in red-hot form. The Brazilian is a superstar in waiting and I expect we’ll see that side of him this season.
“After losing Marko Arnautovic to the Chinese Super League, West Ham have a void to fill in attack.
“They have signed Sebastien Haller for £45m but I also think Anderson, who cost £36m when he joined from Lazio last summer, is capable of reaching that next level.
“Sorry West Ham fans, but I think we’ll see Anderson enjoy a stand-out season and that big clubs will come calling with £60m-plus bids next summer.”
