Reece rescues West Ham from FA cup embarrassment

Reece Burke saved West Ham blushes just eight minutes away from a penalty shoot-out at the London Stadium in front of 40,000 fans on Tuesday evening.

The Hammers had two efforts cleared off the line in the second half after a lacklustre first half and luck didn’t seem to be on the Irons side as they tried to find a way past the League one side who held them to a goalless draw in the away tie.

West Ham made very hard work of it but Burke’s late winner has secured a fourth-round tie against Bournemouth or Wigan.

David Moyes was forced to draft Mark Noble and Marko Arnautovic into action in the second half replacing Andre Ayew and Reece Oxford with Zabelalta coming on for an injured Sam Byram late on.
