Report: Aguerd’s second thoughts

Nayef Aguerd is this morning being reported as being unsure whether he want to join West Ham or Newcastle.

That’s coming from the Daily Star and amounts to just one line in a story reported here exclusively yesterday that the Geordies were making a late bid to hijack our deal.

There is nothing to back up the statement and it feels like no more than a twist on the story we gave you.

We know little more that  we explained yesterday but it’s more than possible that the player’s agent – even at this late stage – is attempting to screw more cash on personal terms by planting a tale that the Magpies are in.

If the central defender does turn his back on us for the Geordies it will of course be a massive blow to the new recruitment policy set up by Moyes.

Rob Newman is allegedly now responsible for doing deal with David Sullivan having stepped back from the role.
