Albian Ajeti is tonight being reported as being in Glasgow and set to complete his loan move to Celtic.

Sky Sports are saying that he is now close to finalising terms to make the move and that he is set to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours.

Claretandhugh understands the fee to be £4.5 million should the Switzerland international make the move permanent at the end of next season and that a certain number of games – believed to be low – will need to be completed for that to happen.

Ajeti has been back in his homeland thinking the move in the reported light of various other interest having emerged over the past couple of weeks.

If true that may come as a surprise given the striker has had almost zero opportunity under Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes to show what he may have in his locker.

Although the fee will only amount to ‘peanuts’, it will be a welcome switch for the Irons who at the very least are starting to get some cash reserves behind them from the summer market.

With the deal in trouble seemingly it is understood that Hoops boss Neil Lennon convinced the player to give himself a chance at the club despite what Sky claim was was interest from a host of PL and European clubs.
