Hammer  Tomas Soucek is reportedly emerging as a transfer target for Barcelona.

According to Todo Fichajes, the Czech Republic international is being eyed by Barcelona in a deal likely to cost around €30million (£25.8m)

Soucek joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague last year with an initial loan fee of £4m and an additional transfer fee of £14.5m to take him permanently making the total outlay £18.5m.

The suggestion that the club would sell one of their stars for a £7.3m profit is absurd.

West Ham are desperate to keep hold of Soucek as the 26-year-old who they see as a key player for them this season as they establish themselves as a top eight team.

It would be a massive blow to the club’s progress if they ended up selling any of the hugely promising side at the end of the season. Players might find it hard to turn down a club with Barca’s history but David Moyes is likely to firmly reject any inquires or bids that come through this summer for his stars of the team.
