Report: Big Broja claim

Chelsea are “fighting” to keep Armando Broja, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The noted transfer insider has been covering the story and previously claimed that he was close to moving to the Hammers.

He went too early on that one and he now claims that Chelsea want to keep the Albania international instead of allowing him to move to the London Stadium.

David Moyes has made Broja his top target when it comes to bringing a new striker into the club, even shelving talks with Gianluca Scamacca due to that interest.

The Hammers are willing to pay up to £30m to sign Broja, who spent last season on loan at Southampton, but it remains to be seen if Chelsea are willing to let him go.

He has been injured throughout pre-season and has yet to be given a real chance during his time with the Blues, but Romano claims boss Thomas Tuchel wants him to stay.

He wrote: Chelsea and West Ham are still in direct negotiation for Armando Broja deal. Chelsea now fighting to keep Armando, Tuchel is big fan – wants him to stay.

“West Ham are still pushing. Been told no way for a loan, only permanent move is being discussed.”

Romano has got stuff wrong this window so take this with a pinch of salt.
