David Moyes is keen on signing Mason Holgate for West Ham this summer, according to 90min.
They report that there is interest in snapping up the centre-back from Frank Lampard’s side.
Holgate is said to have come into the crosshairs after Nayef Aguerd’s injury blow, with the summer signing from Rennes ruled out for a number of weeks; he could well be out for months.
90min reports that there is a desire to sign a replacement, as a result, and Holgate is seen as one such option.
He has been with Everton since 2015 and is on a lengthy contract until 2025; he made 29 appearances for the club last season and is also capable of playing at right-back.
As it stands, the Irons have four other options in centre-back, with Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, and Craig Dawson.
The only way we can foresee a potential move for Holgate is if Diop is allowed to move to Fulham; a deal that has been put on indefinite hold after Aguerd’s injury.
