According to a  new report from French newspaper L’Equipe West Ham are looking at the possibility of signing two players in the guise of attacking midfielder Florian Thauvin from Marseille and right-back Djibril Sidibe from Monaco.

Thauvin, a former Newcastle player managed to score 18 goals and made nine assists in all competitions last season.

The report says Sidibe would cost West Ham at least €15m plus add-ons if they were to sign him from Monaco this summer. Thauvin  is valued at over €50m plus add-ons

Claret and Hugh say:

With Ryan Fredericks as the Hammers number one right back, Pablo Zabaleta as backup and Ben Johnson waiting in the wings it would be very surprising to give the Sidibe report any real credibility this summer.

Although Thauvin scored a lot of goals in the French league, unless Menaul Pellegrini plans to use him as striker it seems bizarre we would want another attacking midfielder in the squad when we have so many already. Any signing for a forward would be subject to someone else leaving such as Javier Hernandez but at the current valuation it makes any signing of that level almost impossible in this transfer window.

Another very low rumour rater for these two as they not considered priority positions.
