Report: Ginger Pele dumped by email

Talksport presenter Georgie Bingham claims this morning that West Ham defender James Collins was dumped by the club via email following the end of his contract quoting his source as Tony Cascarino.

Bingham claimed “Cas has it on good authority that not only has James Collins been released by West Ham after 11 years without ceremony or tribute but it’s been done by email. Yuck”

The 34-year old admitted at the end of the season he hadn’t heard or sat down with anyone from the club but he was still hopeful he would hear in the next two weeks.

Claret and Hugh have been told that the club is like a ghost town with the players on holiday and many club staff out of contract after David Moyes, Stuart Pearce, Alan Irvine and Billy McKinlay contracts came to an end. West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady is also thought to be away filming the BBC Apprentice.

If the email report is true, it is likely to have come from West Ham Club Secretary Andrew Pincher but after so many years of loyal service, you would have thought someone could have picked up the phone to speak to Ginge in person.

The club has been approached to comment.
