Report: Hammers beat Arsenal to youngster

West Ham are reportedly close to signing of Henry Onyekuru with the Daily Mail claiming the Hammers have convinced the youngster to snub Arsenal.

The report claims talks with the  are continuing over the fee which will be linked to the 20-year-old gaining his work permit.

Onyekuru has apparently been convinced by West Ham that a move to the London Stadium will offer him the platform to play regularly in the Premier League. This has been a key factor in his decision as regularly reported here.

The report continues that he is expected to fly to London on Tuesday ahead of a prospective medical “if talks continue to progress well.”

A fee of around £7 million plus wages of £35k a week is expected for a player currently with with unfashionable Belgian outfit Eupen where he scored 25 goals and was responsible for 14 assists last season.
